Obituary for
Robert Douglas Hunter
After a long and well-lived life, Bob Hunter passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.
Bob’s earthly journey has ended, and we are comforted to know that Dad will be reunited with his Savior; his wife, Elizabeth of 56 years, and family members who preceded him. He is survived by his daughter Sharon; his son, Daniel (Kelly, d. 2023) Jordan, Kesley, Jace and Riley; Josey and Shay.
Also survived by his daughter/girlfriend Cathie, and Dad’s companion and “Coffee Buddy” Vi.; his sister Shirley and brother Don.
My father practiced his faith quietly through his many acts of kindness to others. He was a helper, a mentor, an advisor, a Good Samaritan, a role model, a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur, a jack of all trades, a fir planter, a caregiver and most of all a friend. He was a strong, quiet, gentle man whose life was filled with laughter, humor and family.
Bob’s family would like to thank the staff at Villa Caritas 1A and Sherwood Care for their extraordinary compassion and expert professional care of Dad, especially during the last few months of his life.
Please join us for the funeral and celebration of Bob’s life at Park Memorial Funeral Home, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton on Tuesday, April 30 at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Bob’s name to AARCS (Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society), the Edmonton Food Bank or a charity of your choice.
