Zelensky welcomes approval of new US military aid

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has welcomed the approval of new US military aid, stating that this aid will save thousands of Ukrainian lives.

He expressed hope that the bill would soon be passed by the US Senate and sent to Joe Biden, the President of the United States.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said: “Thank you to everyone who supported our package: this is the decision to protect lives. I would like to personally thank Speaker Mike Johnson and all the American hearts who, like us in Ukraine, feel that Russian Evil Must Not Win. I hope the package is considered in the U.S. Senate and forwarded to President Biden soon enough.”

The US House of Representatives recently passed a bill providing new military aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.

The value of this US military assistance amounts to $95 billion, with over $60 billion allocated to Ukraine, $26 billion to Israel, $9.1 billion for humanitarian needs in Gaza and Sudan, and $8.12 billion for securing the Indo-Pacific region and Taiwan.

A member of the U.S. House of Representatives said, “On this vote, there are 360 ​​yeas and 58 nays. The bill passes without objection. A motion for reconsideration is placed on the table.”

The bill is expected to be approved by the U.S. Senate next week.

President Joe Biden has also urged the US Senate to quickly approve the bill and send it to him for signature.
