Edinburgh woman, 38, in hospital after ‘disturbance’ in city center

A 38-year-old woman was rushed to hospital after an incident in central Edinburgh.

A man and a woman were arrested and charged following the disturbances in Hunter Square on Saturday.

Photos show there was a massive police presence around 7:45 p.m.

The pair must appear in court.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 7.45pm on Saturday 20 April 2024 we were called to a report of a disturbance in Hunter Square, Edinburgh. Officers attended and a 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment.

“A 33-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the disturbances. They will appear in court at a later date.”
