Mother seeks justice after death of her 15-year-old son

The mother of a 15-year-old high school student in Phetchabun province today sought help on the Sai Mai Tong Rod Facebook page to get justice for her son’s death at an outdoor graduation event in Chon Buri province on March 21.

The 44-year-old mother, Patcharee, told media at the Facebook page owner’s office today that her son fell unconscious when he was thrown into the sand as punishment during a beach football match at Nang Ram Beach in Sattahip District . He was rushed to the district hospital by his friends but was declared dead on arrival.

She said she received 10,000 baht in compensation from the school authorities, but that amount was not even enough to cover funeral costs, so she had to borrow from other people.

She also said her family believes her son’s death was an accident and that she initially did not want to take legal action against the school or her son’s friends, but changed her mind after consulting with the page’s founder, Ekapob Luangprasert . .

A complaint will be filed with the Sattahip district police on Monday against the school management and other people involved.
