Babar Azam, team management tries to create a positive atmosphere in the team: Mohammad Amir – KSportsWatch

Srinagar: Returning pacer Mohammad Amir has praised Pakistan captain Babar Azam and the team management for creating a positive environment in the dressing room as the 2024 World Cup approaches.

Mohammad Amor made his return to international cricket and picked up two wickets in the match against New Zealand in the first T20I of the series.

Pakistan defeated New Zealand comfortably in the second T20I as the hosts bundled the visitors out for just 90 runs in the first innings and eventually chased down the target with 47 balls to spare, with Mohammad Rizwan top scorer for the winning side.

“In the previous video I shot with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), I gave credit to their management. The current management, which includes Azhar (Ali) bhai, (Mohammad) Yousuf bhai, Wahab (Riaz) bhai and Babar (Azam), is the captain. They are all trying to create a positive environment and I think at the moment the atmosphere in the team is very good,” Amir said after the match.

“The seniors and juniors get along well with each other. Our goal is to win the World Cup and that is our only focus and we believe that if we keep the environment of the team good, we can achieve a lot for the team.”

Amir hit his first over on his return, dismissing Tim Robinson for just four runs.

Amir continued to trouble the visitor’s batting line-up as in his second over he took the wicket of Dean Foxcroft while skipper Babar Azam took an easy catch.

Amir ended his spell with figures of 2/13 in three overs and was crucial to the Pakistan bowling line-up.
