Canyon Lake-based Sugar Dollz is celebrating its 14th anniversary.

Since launching her business on April 21, 2010, owner Amy Liechti has operated her boutique from four different prime locations in the Canyon Lake Towne Center.

Sugar Dollz sells clothing, hats and accessories, but is best known for its custom swimwear. They custom make their patterns and sew in-house all year round. “I take so much pride in personally creating and selecting every fabric for our swimwear collections,” said Liechti.

This summer, Sugar Dollz is launching its new bridal bikinis and five new styles of its Mommy and Me bikini line.

Sugar Dollz works on a seasonal basis and focuses on its customers. During the off-season, Liechti devotes her time to creating recital costumes for JDI Dance Company.

“I have always wanted to own a boutique since I was a child,” says Liechti. “As a young girl, I told my mother that I was going to name my future boutique Amy’s Closet; But when the time came, my sister helped me choose the perfect name, Sugar Dollz, given the abundance of girls in our family.

Liechti met her husband, Gus, the same year she opened Sugar Dollz. They have one daughter, Mia. “My passion for drawing, designing and interior decoration has always driven me. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to instill a love of fashion in my daughter, who absorbs everything my husband and I teach her about business like a sponge.”

In addition to Sugar Dollz, Liechti and her husband own Wild Blush Suites. Wild Blush Suites launched in 2019 and houses 20 custom salon suites across three buildings in the Towne Center.
