Aayush Sharma on leaving Salman Khan Films: I can’t continue working in the family

Aayush Sharma has clarified why he decided to leave Salman Khan Films (SKF). The actor had made his debut with ‘Loveyatri’, which was backed by SKF, followed by ‘Antim: The Final Truth’ (another SKF production). Next time he will be seen in ‘Ruslaan’.

Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma was roped in for ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ but decided not to be a part of the film. He addressed the fallout rumors with Salman Khan Bollywood Hungama“It’s not like that, it’s my house. No actor works with just one production house. Honestly, it’s really funny, but my choices have been the subject of a lot of debate. There are many actors who have worked in their comfort zone, worked with a particular production house, then dated and then returned to the same production house. I wanted to get out, my intention is to go there.

“I cannot continue to work alone in the family, in a closed environment, because then my growth would also be hampered. It was a conscious decision to take time away from the family to work outside. It was important for me to grow, educate myself, evolve and be worthy enough to be recalled,” he added.

Aayush Sharma played the lead role in ‘Antim’, which also featured Salman Khan. He admits he was lucky. “You shouldn’t play such an important role in your second film, in a film that has Salman in it. It wasn’t a 5-7 minute cameo appearance, he was a major character in the movie. Somewhere down the road the story revolves around my character. You don’t get this opportunity (often), but I got it. I have to be grateful, understand that this is the greatest support I can ever receive. Now the journey must be mine,” he said.

Next time he will be seen in ‘Ruslaan’. Produced by KK Radhamohan, the cast also includes Sushrii Mishraa and Telugu star Jagapathi Babu. ‘Ruslaan’ will hit the screens on April 26.
