Madhuri Dixit Nene swaps the dupatta for a cape with her Nachiket Barve lehenga

Madhuri Dixit Nene is known for dabbling in color therapy with feel-good shades. While she occasionally leans on muted tones, she always returns to her sartorial color: yellow. Her recent marigold Nachiket Barve lehenga is no exception. This is her second look from the National Award-winning designer in April 2024 alone. Just a few days ago, she opted for a monochrome saree with a floral appliqué blouse – a marked departure from her sun-kissed lehenga.

“This lehenga is all about color and simplicity. From our ‘Lightness Of Being’ collection, called Babylon, because the inspiration came from the gardens of the ancient Mesopotamian city,” says Nachiket Barve.

The skirt is made of hand-woven raw silk organza, which exudes a gossamer feel and shine. The blouse features floral motifs, which are “embroidered with very delicate resham threads and pearls. Similar to jewelry making, fine pearls are clustered together, making them almost resemble a flat surface.”
